Quad Cities Speed Week, Aug. 25 - Sept. 4, is a week-long event featuring racing events and speed-related activities each night of the week! Once again The Putnam Museum and IMAX® Theatre in Davenport will be showing one of their more popular movies "NASCAR 3-D: The IMAX Experience" throughout Quad Cities Speed Week. National Hot Rod Association Top (NHRA) Fuel Champion, Tony Schumaker, will be on hand at the Cordova Dragway Park for the O'Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing. Cordova will also play host to the NGK Midnight Mayhem Street Drag. At the Davenport Speedway spectators will find car and motorcycle action with the IMCA Season Championship and the Antique and Vintage Flat Track Motorcycle Races. The Quad Cities Speedway will be hosting the Championship Front Row Challenge and Fan Appreciation-Cheater Night. Waving the checkered flag on the week of events will be the Rock Island Grand Prix.

WORLD SERIES OF DRAG RACING:
The kick off to this event begins Aug. 25-28 with the 52nd Annual O'Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing presented by Ford Mustang at Cordova Dragway Park. Featured will be Funny Cars, Outlaw Pro-Mods, Nostalgia Top Fuel, Jet Dragsters, Wheelstanders, Fireworks, and a return appearance of "The Dragonator" The Mutant, Bionic Dragon with Jaws of Steel during the Friday "Night of Thrills" starting at 7 p.m. Scheduled to make an appearance on Saturday night is Tony Schumaker, NHRA Top Fuel World Champion, and Tim Wilkerson, NHRA National Event Winner. The "World Series of Pro Finale" is Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. with racing throughout the day. IMCA SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Quad Cities Speed Week continues to race forward with the IMCA Season Championship at Davenport Speedway, located at the Mississippi Valley Fair in Davenport, Iowa, on Aug. 26. This stock car race will feature Late Models, Modifieds, B-Mods, Street Stocks and Legends on the quarter-mile dirt track. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., hot laps at 6:30 p.m., and racing action begins at 7 p.m. Call Bob Wagener at 563-652-5302 for more information. QUAD CITY SPEEDWAY CHAMPIONSHIP:
The Quad City Speedway Championship on Aug. 28, located at the Rock Island County Fairgrounds in East Moline, Illinois, is the final point race of the season where local season point champions will race for the final championship title on a ¼ mile dirt oval track. THE ANTIQUE MOTORCYCLE SWAP MEET:
The Antique Motorcycle Swap Meet and Motorcycle Races Sept. 1-3 at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, Iowa, will feature about 500 motorcycle vendors from around the world. The swap meet, which is one of the largest antique motorcycle swap meet in the world, is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 1-3 and a motorcycle show displaying motorcycles 35 years of age and older will be open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sept. 1-3 in the Expo Building. The

ANNUAL ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE FLAT TRACK MOTORCYCLE RACES:
Unlimited Promotions Racing will present the 17th Annual Antique and Vintage Flat Track Motorcycle Races on Sept. 2 at the Davenport Speedway at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds. The race will feature antique and vintage motorcycles on the half-mile dirt track. MIDNIGHT MAYHEM STREET DRAGS:

ROCK ISLAND GRAND PRIX:
Quad Cities Speed Week will end in grandeur Sept. 3-4 with the 11th Rock Island Grand Prix, the world's largest and safest karting street race taking place in downtown Rock Island, Illinois. There are 16 races running on the streets throughout the downtown including Superkarts! USA King of the Streets featuring karts with a 6-speed motorcycle transmission; Briggs & Stratton Motorsports Rumble at the Rock and the Tom Argy Jr. Animal Roundup, and two TAG international races for electric-start karts. All events feature the top drivers in the sport, some of which will become future NASCAR, IRL and Champ Car drivers.
Saturday will feature practice laps beginning at 8:15 a.m. and timed qualifying from 1-4 p.m. Sunday will feature practice and last chance qualifier races beginning at 8:15 a.m. Opening ceremonies start at 12 noon and 16 feature races run from 12:30-6 p.m. There will be nightly outdoor concerts Friday, Saturday and Sunday on the Great River Plaza right in the middle of the action. The Indy Racing League will have one of its open-wheel racecars and other attractions on display at the Rock Island Grand Prix.
