IAAPA SILENT AUCTION “CALL FOR ITEMS” TO benefit GIVE KIDS THE WORLD VILLAGE

Alexandria, Virginia — The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) is seeking donations for its annual silent auction benefiting Give Kids The World Village. The silent auction is being held in conjunction with the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 Annual Conference and Trade Show, November 14-19, 2005 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta, Ga.
As the largest worldwide gathering of amusement and attractions industry professionals, the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 will attract more than 30,000 attendees to view the hottest new amusement industry rides, products and services. IAAPA also includes tradeshow activities to support Give Kids The World, an organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families by providing each “wish” family a week of cost-free fun at their facility located in Kissimmee, Florida.
“In addition to gathering our colleagues for the business and educational aspects of the IAAPA Attractions Expo, we want to bring everyone together to raise valuable funds for Give Kids The World Village,” said J. Clark Robinson, IAAPA President and CEO. “The combination of each individual supporter’s interest and generosity goes a very long way for this cause.”
This year’s silent auction runs Wednesday, November 16 through Friday, November 18. To ensure the auction achieves its goals, IAAPA requests donations that will add excitement, interest and value. Among items donated last year were original artwork, a digital camera, carousel horses and a top of the line barbecue grill.
“The companies that donate items for the auction also have the opportunity to gain exposure and recognition through another outlet at this tremendous tradeshow,” Robinson said. “Of course, we truly hope, companies donate because they know the great impact their worthwhile contributions will have on the many families that benefit from the Give Kids The World Village.”
