PJ1 $25,000 VEGAS SUMMER SIZZLE ANNOUNCES DATE CHANGE TO SEPTEMBER 17, 2005
Toledo Ohio — Grand Vitesse Racing, Promoter of the richest one day Karting event of the 2005 season, The PJ1 $25,000 Vegas Summer Sizzle Presented by Grand Prix Distributing slated to be contested at the fabulous XPlex On August 27, 2005, announces a date change for the spectacular.
The event will now be contested on Saturday night, September 17, 2005.
The lineup will still boast the same large purses in Karting's 3 premier categories; TAG, ICC/Pro Moto and ICA.
Grand Vitesse Racing's General Manager explained the reason for the date change. "The Gatorz Cup series is contesting a round on the same weekend at Santa Maria, and they have a tight points battle.
Andy [Gatorz Series Promoter] Seesemann and his crew have obviously done a fantastic job pulling that series together, and from what I understand, they can receive 100 or so entries in a variety of TaG and Rotax Classes.
Many of the competitors in that series would also be eligible to run the PJ1/Grand Prix Distributing spectacular, and had expressed interest in doing so, but were dismayed by the schedule conflict, and the choices required.
To move forward with our event on the same date would only serve to dilute the fields in both races, and would be detrimental to the best interests of Karting.
Xplex Managers Ken and Larry have been fantastic to work with, and were very amenable to the date change...They want the race to be a success as much as I do!"
The PJ1 $25,000 Vegas Summer Sizzle Presented by Grand Prix Distributing is the largest purse, one day karting event of the 2005 season.
Headlining the Spectacular will be a 2 Hour team event for the wide variety of Karts that meet the TAG/Rotax rules as defined by TAG USA.
A minimum of $4000 will be awarded to the winning team.
Also slated to run are sprint races in ICC/Pro Moto and ICA...With minimum winning prize monies of $2000 in each sprint category.
Dash for cash style events are also scheduled for all three classes.
