SCRIBNER PLASTICS AND BRIGGS & STRATTON TEAM UP FOR THE 4-CYCLE GRAND NATIONALS
Rancho Cordova, California — Recently Chris Scribner of Scribner Plastics Race Team had the opportunity to experience Briggs & Stratton’s new World Formula Racing engine. An electric start Briggs engine with rev limiter. The package was provided to Scribner Plastics Race Team the weekend before the 4-cycle Grand Nationals in Santa Maria CA. With limited time, the engine was to be installed ready to race before the team left Thursday prior to the weekends racing.
Never having worked with a 4-cycle racing engine before, Chief Mechanic Rick Scribner stated, “In 25 years of racing, I have never put an engine package together so quickly with such simplicity, two hours from out of the box to running”.
Rules for such an engine allow minor blueprinting, however Scribner had no time for a blue print and ran the engine straight from the box. Chris had never raced a 4-cycle before, competing with other motors built to a blueprinted spec, Chris was able to take his sponsored engine right from the box and be competitive capturing a podium finish. “I was very impressed with the torque of the engine, I didn’t feel the others had an advantage of power.
For an affordable engine package, this is the best around!” Scribner also went on to state that he was hooked on 4-cycle and would compete in upcoming 4-cycle events. “It was easy to tune and upkeep, I believe it’s the racing package of the future!”
