“15-year-old Canadian sensation will head overseas for course”
Guelph, Ontario, Canada — FirstKart.com team driver Daniel Morad, will head to Spain this week for the Formula BMW (FBMW) licensing program. The 15-year-old rising sensation will head overseas to compete in the program courtesy of a selection of Howden Media Group which selected two deserving drivers for the course.
Morad, who currently leads the Formula Senior point standings in the Sunoco Ron Fellows Karting Championship, is on a tear as of late collection three of four series victories and another podium result. The Markham, ON resident also competes in the Stars of Karting National series scoring several strong results in his senior rookie year.
“I am pleased with Daniel’s progress” stated Team Principal Tony Ventresca. “Daniel is a talented driver and with our equipment we helped him and several other drivers gain valuable recognition and selected for Motorsports scholarships.”.
Morad is one of several drivers that have begun the progression through the FirstKart.com squad as he is looking to follow in the footsteps of Bobby Wilson (USFF2000 2003 Champion), James Hinchcliffe (2004 FBMW Rookie-of-the-Year and junior scholarship winner) and Trevor Daley (FBMW Junior driver scholarship winner).
Upon arrival back to North America, Morad will immediately travel to Wisconsin and contest in the fourth round of the Stars of Karting Championship. Morad, a veteran of kart racing, will seek his first National level senior victory at USA International Raceway in Shawano, WI.
15-year-old Zach Schiff, current Stars of Karting East and World Karting Association 80cc Junior point leader, also garnered a scholarship award in the past few weeks as he was selected for the Red Bull Driver Search program. Schiff will head to Boston this week with 100 other drivers as he looks to advance to the final round later on in the summer.
