STARS OF KARTING RACERS HEAD TO SUNNY FLORIDA

Seattle, Washington — The Eastern half of the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL will head to Jacksonville, FL for their Independence Day weekend (July 1-3) to contest the second round in the East Division of the series.  Perennial shifter kart contender Kyle Wiegand (GP/Pavesi) comes into Florida in the points lead but will be chased by local favorite Keith Spicer on his Tony Kart.  Canadian Jan Velez-Walter who showed impressive speed at New Castle will try to keep some of his momentum going on his CRG.

The direct drive headliners will see Chris Keller on his Biese and Adam Johnson on his Birel do battle against the likes of Phil Giebler, Intrepid’s hot shoe running the full East and West schedules.  Easykart stars Paul Harraka and Dominic Scheer will also be competing in ICA this weekend.

The PCH Motorsports JICA class boasts a large entry with Anthony Llopiz (Kosmic) and  the Colombian Sebastien Saavedra (Vanspeed) at the top of the points standings.  Highly touted Eric Morrow of Indiana stands third in points aboard his Margay but they will have a full field chasing them down all weekend with nearly 35 entries expected.

In the King Taco Junior Shifter class Zach Schiff will ride a hot streak in that saw him sweep the class at New Castle on his First Kart.  He was also recently nominated as one of the four wild cards chosen to represent the series in the Red Bull Driver Search.  His First Kart teammate Michael Vincec will be sure to challenge him at the point as well.  First Kart seems to dominate this class with five of the top nine in the East Coast points.  Garrett Boone is putting up a great fight however in third aboard his CRG.

Florida always tends to be a strong point for the Easykart class as the company is based out of Miami.  Dominic Scheer, who has been splitting time racing in both Europe and North America, leads the points heading in.  Pat Iannucci and Guillermo Freille give close chase in second and third.

In the Grand Products Cadet  class Nazareth, Pennsylvania’s Sage Karam rides a hot streak into Jacksonville atop the points in his Birel.  Sebastian Ordonez and Cody Robinson lie second and third with Floridians Oscar Tunjo Sanchez and Spencer Pigot looking to show well in their home race.

Kartech Motorsports (www.kartechusa.com) will be on site vending at the race to help out any racers in need of spare parts.  In addition, they will be posting the prize in the $1000 Kartech Motorsports Dash for Cash that will see the top two qualifiers in ICC, ICA, and Easykart matched against one another in equally prepared Easykarts provided by Michael Ferrucci of Oakland Valley Race Park and Salomon Bendayan of Easykart.  The New Castle edition of the Alpinestars Dash for Cash presented by North American Race Parts saw one of the best races in recent memory with a brave Johnny Johnson walking away $1000 richer.
