MIR AND GRAND PRODUCTS INC. REWARD ‘STARS’ DRIVERS
Seattle, Washington — MIR Race Line, Italy the leader in Karting Racing apparel since 1984, and their North American distributor Grand Products Inc. have teamed up to reward drivers wearing the MIR Pro-1 and Pro-2 race suits (or customized versions of MIR Pro-1 and MIR Pro-2) by enacting a contingency program that will reach across all classes of the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL. From the upcoming Jacksonville event July 1-3 through the end of the season any driver that wins a race while wearing an MIR Pro-1 or Pro-2 suit will receive $200, while any driver finishing second will receive $150. The rewards don’t stop there though, any driver that qualifies on pole in the MIR Pro1 or 2 will receive $100 with any second place qualifier receiving $75. This contingency makes it possible for a driver to take home $600 in MIR contingency money over the course of the typical Snap-on Stars doubleheader race weekend.
“I think the great thing about this is that it extends across all classes of the series and everyone has the opportunity to take home this prize. If MIR has a lot of their drivers get on hot streaks they will be paying out significant amounts of money,” said series marketing director Jeff Swoboda. Also MIR & Grand Products will have special pricing available to any Snap-on Stars of Karting driver that is moving up to the next Level of Motorsports. To purchase their New NOMEX race line. Riccardo Mazzeschi of MIR said, “This new line will be made available to our karters custom designs, we don’t want our drivers to think once they are done with karting, that MIR would not be there for them”.
The first weekend at which the contingency will up for grabs is upcoming in Jacksonville, FL July 1-3. Those with any media or promotional inquiries should contact jeff@starsofkarting.com.
