TAG™ CLARIFIES ENGINE PARITY ISSUE

Antioch, Illinois — Over the last two and a half months of racing TAG™ Racing International and TAG™ USA have been tracking the progress of engine parity within the TAG™ classes.  By following these results, TAG™ has come to the conclusion that there are four engines that would be considered boost port engines in which the performance level is beyond that of the other TAG™ motors.  These four engines are the ITAL System, Comer, Motori 7 and Sonik.

“We have been addressing these issues with the engine manufacturers they have been very cooperative and interested in working with us to retain parity within the TAG™ racing structure”, said Dave Larson, president of TAG™.  “As a result of this, ITAL systems have come up with a new ignition with the rev limiter built in to meet our specifications. TAG™ Racing International has also been in contact with our Qualifying Series tracks and as a result have been apprised of the continuing discrepancy’s within the performance levels of the boost port engines As we have stated in the past and within our mission statement, we will continue to work to maintain parity for the engines within the TAG™ class structure,” Larson continued.

With this in mind,  TAG™ Racing International and TAG™ USA has decided to eliminate the remaining boost port engines from the junior class structure.

In a continuing effort to retain parity within the senior class structure TAG™ Racing International and TAG™ USA have decided to implement weight changes to the boost ported engines, the weight changes are listed below and will be in effect as of July 1, 2005.
