STARS OF KARTING RACE FROM SHAWANO, WI TO BE TELEVISED ON SPEED CHANNEL’S LUCAS OIL ON THE EDGE SHOW

Seattle, Washington — The Shawano, Wisconsin round of the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the Indy Racing League to be held July 22-24 at USA International Raceway will be the first event of the 2005 season to receive television coverage.  The Lucas Oil on the Edge Television series which runs on Speed Channel will broadcast a half-hour of racing action from the event.  The Lucas Oil on the Edge program airs forms of motorsport not in normal circulation on most networks.

“Derek Daly originally introduced us to Ken Stout, we started talking about ways we might be able to work together to help out the series and his business and this is an opportunity he brought to us. We think that the Snap-on Stars series will make for great television and will expose karting to hundreds of thousands of people who may not be familiar with it,” said series marketing director Jeff Swoboda.  “The future stars of American motorsport are currently racing in the Snap-on Stars events so anything we can to expose them is beneficial to American motorsport,” commented Daly.

The show is expected to air in November or December of 2005.  Those with any promotional inquiries about the event should contact jeff@starsofkarting.com.  To learn more about Lucas Oil on the Edge go to www.ontheedgetv.com.
