INTREPID COMMITS TO SEND ITS TOP-PERFORMING ICA AND JICA DRIVERS IN THE SNAP-ON STARS OF KARTING TO THE WINTER CUP IN ITALY

Seattle, Washington — Chassis manufacturer Intrepid, in association with its U.S. importer Champion Racing of Norman, Oklahoma has stepped up to provide a very desirable carrot for its top performing drivers in the 2005 Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the IRL.  The top finishing ICA and JICA drivers on Interpids in the 2005 Snap-on Stars Championship will be provided complete racing support, personnel, and equipment for the 2006 Winter Cup in Lonato, Italy.  Rodney and Brett Berryhill of Champion Racing thought the program was an important one to implement to show just how serious Intrepid is about the U.S. market, “The Stars is really putting together a great series that brings the European and United States programs together and we’ve seen that this year with the Intrepid factory and several of the other factories that have given full participation,” commented Rodney.
 
“We’ve really strengthened our ties with the CIK format in the past couple of years, and I think this reward Intrepid has committed to demonstrates that.  In the end, I think we’ll see a lot of similar programs put in place across the board and some very talented drivers will be rewarded with some great experiences,” said series marketing director Jeff Swoboda.

Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by the Indy Racing League is based out of Seattle, Washington, sanctioned by the World Karting Association (WKA) and owned and operated by 1986 Indianapolis 500 champion and IRL IndyCar Series team owner Bobby Rahal, IndyCar Series driver Bryan Herta and veteran karting promoter Paul Zalud.
