Record Numbers For Heartland Dirt Series Season Opener
Concord, North Carolina — With 422 entries, the Heartland Speedway Dirt Series presented by Heartland Bully Clutch Dealers, Gecker Motorsports Nationals at Race It Motorsports in Waterloo, Iowa became the largest Heartland Dirt event ever.
Jacob Wilson, Chad Porginski, and Jeremy Heimbaugh each took home double wins. Jacob Wilson rounded out wins in the TRR Briggs Jr Lite and Kart Shirts "Nuff Said" Briggs Jr Animal Lite. G-Man Kart Works Briggs Medium and Waller Racing Briggs Heavy wins were grabbed by Chad Porginski and finally, Jeremy Heimbaugh rounded out both senior sportsman classes winning the Vickery's Speed Shop Briggs Sr Sportsman Medium and MCP Brake Systems Briggs Sr Sportsman Heavy.
Despite rain showers on Thursday and Friday, Track Promoter, Kevin Kirkpatrick, and his staff at Race It Motorsports did an excellent job of preparing the track for race day, as well as, getting the large number of trailers parked. Many thanks also to everyone at Bully Clutches for their sponsorship support and overall success of the series.
Kirkpatrick said, “Finally, thanks to the racers for their support and cooperation. The weather wasn't as cooperative, however, spirits ran high and the racing was great!”
WKA hopes to see everyone there at the stop #2 for the X-Caliber Nationals at Kartwheels Speedway June 17 – 19 in Norfolk, Nebraska.
The season opener for the Rage Karts Heartland Speedway Pavement Series at USA International Raceway in Shawano, Wisconsin is taking place June 3 – 5.
