NATIONAL ROAD RACE COMPETITORS VYING FOR GRAND NATIONAL EAGLE

Concord, North Carolina — The World Karting Association (WKA) Dunlop Tire Road Racing Series Elite Karting Grand Nationals are slated for May 27th – 29th at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) in Danville, Virginia.
Hosted by the Woodbridge Kart Club, winners at this event not only earn bragging rights, but also receive the famed Grand National Eagle and Grand National jacket or crew shirt.
A few reminders from WKC Staff regarding the event:
- Thursday night track entry - We are permitted entry to the track Thursday night as a courtesy by the racetrack. Whoever has the track rented on Thursday has the rights to the track until 5:30 pm, followed by a reasonable time to vacate the paddock. Therefore, it is impossible to predict the exact time we can move our trailers in. Please be patient while we set up to accommodate all our WKA and WKC sponsors.
- Paddock pit spaces - We have over 100 WKA and WKC race sponsors. In exchange for supporting your race program, they get reserved parking in the paddock. The areas that are taped off are reserved for them. All other spots are available on a first come, first served basis. We are expecting over 650 entries this weekend - please make room so that everyone can have a pit spot.
- Parking - If you are not either a WKA or WKC Sponsor, we are asking that you DO NOT TURN UP BEFORE 7 PM. YOU WILL NOT be granted access to the track until we have our Sponsors in the track area first.
- Saturday Night Party - WKC will host a Virginia ham dinner party Saturday night at the Pavilion. The Can Clan & MRM Motorsports are generously providing the ham. The club will provide paper goods and utensils - Please bring with you an entrée, salad, side dish, drinks or dessert. It will start about 45 minutes after the last race of the day.
- Seminars - Added to the activities will be a seminar by Pete Tyer from Pudge Engineering on Cluch set-up and another from Aimsports on Mychron products.
- Whiffle Ball - And, Don’t forget youth social! A game of Whiffle ball will be played on Saturday night before dinner! Please sign your kids up in registration. Exact starting time for the game will be posted in registration.
