WKA’S WINTER NATIONALS AT BEAVERUN MOTORSPORTS COMPLEX
Concord, North Carolina — Drivers across the nation made their way to Wampum, Pennsylvania for Round #2 of the World Karting Association George Kugler Manufacturer’s Cup Series presented by Bridgestone.
Mother Nature did her best to put a damper on the weekend, however, despite frigid temperatures and rain, drivers and crews stepped up to the challenge to provide everyone with exciting racing action. All of Saturday’s races were able to be run, however, mid-day Saturday, WKA Officials made the call to cancel Sunday’s races due to existing and pending inclement weather condition making it’s way to the Wampum, PA area.
“In wake of the impending weather that karters had to eventually endure, I am so appreciative for their good nature. While not everyone was happy with the placement of the race this year, as well the conditions they were besieged with, everyone kept their spirits on a good note. And I can't thank our Manufacturer's Cup competitors, sponsors, fans, as well as the staff at BeaveRun Motorsports Complex enough, for the iron man effort they put forth to find the good in a weekend of nasty weather. Thank you very much,” said Buddy Long, WKA Director of Operations.
Next stop for the 2005 season is in South Bend, Indiana at South Bend Raceway Park for the Matt-Con Services Corporation Nationals. For further event and entry information call 704-455-1606.
