CLOSING UP ON THE WIN - March 25, 2010 |
21st Andrea Margutti Trophy Pista 7 Laghi, Italy Vlaardingen, The Netherlands - With two high-profile international meetings under its belt in 2010, Peter de Bruijn’s Maddox team proves already set for the win. Despite unfriendly weather conditions - cold and wet all the way through to Sunday finals – Maddox drivers show great consistency and high-performance levels. Best of the lot, British driver Jack Hawksworth, back with de Bruijn’s team after the successful collaboration in 2008, grabbed a promising 2nd in KZ2, which spells good things for the races to come. Jack has something to do after qualifying, which sees him stop the 11th fastest lap. His indications to Maddox team work just fine in the heats, as he grabs 3rd and 2nd respectively. Jack starts the prefinal from 3rd on the grid, engaging a fantastic battle for 2nd, which he misses by just 0”04. The final is still raced in wet conditions, but his Maddox powered by Parilla has no trouble in taking the chequered flag in 2nd position. In KF3, Maddox colours are represented by up and coming Austrian driver Lucas Auer. In KF2, Thai driver Tanart Sathienthirakul does well to go through the heats – grabbing a good 6th in the 2nd – to start 17TH in prefinal. But the level of competition is quite high to fight with the protagonists, though the meeting proves a good experience to take advantage of Maddox full potential in the future. “The KZ2 podium is a very good result – said Peter de Bruijn after the race -.We are very motivated by the quality of our equipment, which will be a surprise to many during the season. We will be concentrating a lot of efforts in the gearbox category with Jack Hawksworth, and I promise you will be amazed by the development we have done with Iame. I can openly say that in 2010 we aim at the European and World Championships titles.” |
