Vista, California - Horstman Mfg. Inc. was the first company to bring 2 cycle spec racing to America in 1994 with HPV-100 and after fifteen years, run away costs necessitate change. A new program will take root beginning in 2010 with Horstman providing the world market a new 100cc air cooled Reed Valve 2 cycle engine. Emphasis will again be on low cost spec racing that provides the karter a level playing field. The new Horstman engine will come with a lightweight disc clutch, exhaust system, carburetor, filter cup, and chain guard all for the target retail bargain price of approximately $1,250.00. Spare parts will also be bargain priced as much as 50% below comparable HPV-100. By popular demand the new engine will be "old school" gun start. Horstman will provide tech specs with each engine to provide uniformity of rules for all participating clubs or associations within each country. Plans call for Cadet, Junior, and Senior classes.
