SKUSA’S CENTRAL STATES CHALLENGE MOVES WISCONSIN DATE TO JULY - February 17, 2010

USA International Raceway event moves to July 10-11 to help gear up for Superkarts! USA Pro Tour event

St. Louis, Missouri – With the recent announcement of the confirmed 2010 schedule for the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour, the Central States Challenge has moved the date for the double header weekend to July 10-11 at the USA International Raceway. The Shawano, Wisconsin facility is a new addition to the SKUSA regional program and with the new SKUSA Pro Tour set to compete in mid-July, series officials elected to move round four and five to the week prior.

“With the Superkarts! USA Pro Tour coming into our region, we want to make sure all competitors are ready for the event,” stated Superkarts! USA Central States director Pam Freund. “With our program hosting an event prior to the SKUSA SummerNationals, this will allow the organization and the racers to help adapt to this premier facility. We are thankful for the addition of this great facility to our program and thank them for working with us during this scheduling process.”

The Central States Challenge event will be contested on the same USAIR facility, however, the circuit used will not be the exact same layout for the SKUSA SummerNationals. The SKUSA Pro Tour event will utilize a special Pro Tour layout that will be determined before the track opens for the new season, not available for racers at anytime before the event in order to maintain a desired level playing field. The layout for the SCSC weekend has not yet been determined as well.

In addition to the revised schedule, the SCSC is proud to announce three added class sponsors to the 2010 program. Newly developed Crockett Motorsports - a new GP Kart dealer operation out of the St. Louis area - will support the S2 category on the year. The TaG Senior division is supported by two companies. Ostrom Painting & Sandblasting is owned by David Ostrom, father of SCSC competitor Drake Ostrom. John Gnau owns Unique Heating & Cooling and will also support the TaG Senior division, a category his son Kyle Gnau competes in.
