July 2005 - SUGGESTED RULES FOR CONCESSION TRACKS

The Wisconsin-based American Karting and Park Association suggests the following rules for concession go-kart tracks:

1. Drivers only allowed in track area.
2. Fasten all loose clothing before entering track area.
3. Brake is on the left, gas is on the right.
4. Observe the attendant at all times; when the attendant signals, all karts must exit immediately.
5. Keep both hands on the steering wheel at all times.
6. Remain in the kart at all times.
7. If kart stops, remain seated; an attendant will be out to help you.
8. Shoes and shirts must be worn.
9. Keep hands and feet inside of the kart at all times.
10.  No bumping or reckless driving is allowed
11.  Slow down when entering the pit area.
12.  Anyone assumed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to drive.
13.  When entering the pit area, remain in kart until all karts are brought in and are stopped.
14.  Any misconduct or breaking of rules will result in immediate suspension from the track.
15.  Driver assumes all responsibility for his/her actions while on the premises, to equipment and other patrons.

You may want to have the above suggestions printed on signage to be displayed at your facility. Please note: These suggestions may vary from track to track and are subject to local ordinances and state regulations.
