Granger, Indiana - At a meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana at the Performance Racing Industry show on Friday December 1, 2000, The executive board of the Karting Industry Council (KIC) decided, upon the urging of several of the board members, to have their annual membership meeting at the 2001 Kart Expo In Suburban Chicago, Illinois. The show will be held on February 17-18 at Pheasant Run Resort and Convention Center in Suburban Chicago. The board also plans a Saturday evening cocktail get together for the association membership. KIC is also looking into the possibility of having a racing celebrity at the KIC booth #304 at the annual exposition. Details have not yet been finalized on this portion of their plans. Boston, Massachusetts – Adam Sodano, recently won the 2000 World Karting Association (WKA) championship in the 125cc Shifter Class. The championship marks the first time a Boston driver has won the class. The championship also marks the first Enduro national title for the ALL KART Racing Team. “I’ve watched Adam for several years now and not only is he great on the track, he’s a true gentleman off the track as well,” says Randy Kugler, president of WKA. “The WKA is proud of his accomplishments. We believe that he will be a wonderful representative for us as he moves up the ladder in motorsports.” As a result of Sodano’s quest for motorsport excellence, he was selected as one of the top seven drivers by the WKA for the Skip Barber Shoot-out competition. Set to take place early in 2001, the top 16 drivers from the USA and Canada will compete tentatively in Sebring, Florida. From the 16 contestants, four winners will advance to compete in the Skip Barber Race series. “I’m thrilled to have been selected by WKA to participate in the shoot-out,” says Sodano. “I’m looking forward to the competition as well as gearing up for the 2001 racing season. Adam Sodano, 21, is a
professional driver with nine years of racing experience. A three-time
WKA Grand National Champion and 1999 Daytona World Championship winner,

This year is the 25th edition of the Motor Show and to mark this special occasion, the classic 9 days event will be extended to 11, running from December 7th to 17th at the Bologna Exhibition Centre in Bologna, Italy.
