Intense Karting Imports president, David Musial, plan to incorporate customer service as a top priority in the development of a customer base in the Midwest. “Were not interested in the politics currently surrounding karting. Our goal is to provide quality customer service to those who are interested in getting involved in karting,” said Musial. “And to provide even better customer support to those in karting not yet receiving it. We have already put this philosophy into motion by making sure that by the time this is printed, we will have product in stock and ready for distribution.” Musial made it his first order of business to contact the current TonyKart importer to establish a good working relationship between the two for the future. With the addition of a second importer on the U.S., the needs of TonyKart customers may be better serviced on a national level. A website, www.intense-karting.com, has already been created and should be up by press time. The site will include a page for dealers to make orders and be kept up-to-date on product changes and service information as well as complete product information for the public. Future plans include an on-line catalog for ordering replacement parts or entire turnkey packages. “We are looking forward to making TonyKart the #1 choice for any form of sprint kart racing in the U.S.,” said Musial. “As is the case in Europe, we are currently looking to expand our dealer network to aid in the process.” For more information,

“We are very pleased to have Intense Karting Imports carrying our line of quality products in addition to the many other lines they are going to have,” said DeLeonibus. “After many discussions with them, I was impressed to find common views in regard to the North American market and I am sure that knowledge will be reflected in their future success.” Intense Karting will continue to grow a network for those interested in carrying product lines currently imported by the company. IKI’s main goal is to provide a very easy way for karting dealers to obtain their product lines with a guarantee that their orders will be available and ready to be shipped on time. IKI plans to handle a variety of quality products including components, karting accessories, clothing and safety apparel in high volume for widespread distribution. This will give dealers an opportunity to get a vast majority of their products from one outlet, cutting their shipping and labor costs considerably. A website is currently under construction for the company that will give information on the full Intense Karting Imports product line as well as give dealers easy on-line ordering and customer care services. In-house engine services and a factory-supported race program to aid in product testing and development are currently in the works. For more info call 708-574-5100
Senske is one of the hottest young female drivers in auto racing, and drove two weekends ago in the “Pro” division of the Toyota Pro/Celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. “It was a great experience and I got to meet people who were my heroes and role models when I was growing up,” said Senske, who drives the #19 Lynx Racing Reynard 98E. “Driving in different forms of racing like the Toyota Celica I drove at Long Beach is good for a driver’s education, But I am happy to return to my usual ride because my goal is to race in CART and the Indy 500, and the Barber Dodge Pro Series is a major step toward what I have been working for since I was seven years old.” The Barber Dodge she’ll race this weekend at Phoenix is a single-seat, open-wheel car similar to the cars that race at Indy), powered by a 265-HP V-6 engine with a top speed of approximately 160 MPH. This year, the season is comprised of a 12-event series of 40-minute races with more than $1 million in prize money. The Phoenix Barber Dodge
Pro event will be televised on ESPN2 on May 3 at 6:00 PM EDT.
Being one of the most exciting circuits in Malaysia, the 1.35-km Tengku Mahkota Karting Circuit will host go-kart racers not only from Malaysia, but also from Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore, though regrettably that Bruneians are unable to participate due to other commitments in their home country. However, it is expected that the Bruneian’s will send a strong team to the next series in Kuala Lumpur. With the addition of Thailand
to the list of participating countries, the event is set to see more drivers
participating in most of the classes especially the Rotax Max Challenge.
The Thais will send a strong 10-driver team to participate in the Formula
Rotax Max followed by another 5 from Indonesia. They will participate in
the Open category, which is to be held together with the Malaysian Rotax
Max Challenge.
All of the overseas participants will receive information about IAAPA 2001 to keep abreast of the most up-to-date topics within the amusement park and attractions industries. The DOC staff will plan and accompany trade delegations to the annual trade show in Orlando, Florida, November 14-17, to purchase goods and services. “We are honored to be a part of this prominent program,” said John Graff, CEO of IAAPA. Due to the intricate matching system that is utilized by the DOC, the exchange of information is exceptional for all parties. The matching system is a state-of-the-art process that contains information matching appropriate product, country and type of business. This system allows both the exhibitor and international representatives seeking new suppliers to be partnered with the appropriate person and company. IAAPA works closely with the Department of Commerce to ensure that all involved in the program receive timely information on the annual convention and trade show. The DOC also provides on-site international trade experts throughout the show to assist with any questions and training. At the end of the show,
the information that is gathered from the overseas representatives is then
disseminated to all U.S. exhibitors, indicating any future interest in
international business.
