ON: KEN-BAR MANUFACTURING
Ken-Bar Manufacturing began as a backyard industry building trampolines in 1975. With Kenneth Alexander as owner and president and Randy Wilson as CEO, Ken-Bar Manufacturing has now grown to become the third largest manufacturer of go-karts in the nation, with several international accounts. THEY ARE GROWING AGAIN!
At the new facilities, Ken-Bar will build 33,000 go-karts this year. Ken-Bar manufactures seventeen models of go-karts. From 3.5 horse power single-seaters to larger models that compete with the ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) market. With 80-100 employees they are able to build approximately 1,000 go-karts of a particular model before moving on to building the next model. This ensures on time product delivery especially at Christmas which is the busiest time of year. Ken-Bar’s top-of-the-line kart, the 11 hp, runs about 30 mph on ATV tires that should take the driver through any sand pit or up any hill. Ken-Bar karts have names like "Sand Dog", "Salute to America", "Scorpion", " "Dirt Dog" , and "The Rebel". Utility vehicles are the newest models that they manufacture. These models include the D-13, with a 13 hp engine, 5 speed transmission and reverse. They also have the D-17 with a 17 hp engine, hydrostatic drive, high and low range and locking differential. These vehicles have numerous uses including gardening, hunting, property transportation and many more. Innovations and safety are a part of the Ken-bar manufacturing process. All of the karts built at Ken-Bar have brush bars. At Ken-Bar safety is their top priority! Because go-kart riders come in all sizes, Ken-Bar is leading the industry with a first -- adjustable seats. Besides selling go-karts in the United States, they also ship karts to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, England, Norway and Canada. On August 21, 2000 Ken-Bar marked its 25th year in business. Old fashioned hard work and determination have made it possible and at a good time. In recent years the demand for go-karts has grown immensely. Their business has grown along with it by 40 percent each year. PRODUCTS
