USA™ - A NEW BEGINNING
Upon the sudden and tragic death of its founder and president Tom Argy Jr., TAG USA™ found itself without a leader. After a lengthy conversation with son Tommy Argy, it was felt that this important and successful program be turned over to Dave Larson of the International Racing Association (IRA). During the past two weeks, Mr. Larson has contacted scores of individuals on both sides of the Atlantic to discuss the future of the program. After much discussion, Mr. Larson has been fortunate to assemble the following stellar board of directors, and advisors which is designed to carry forth the racing program implemented by Argy less than a year ago. For the competitor, TAG (Touch and Go) USA was created to provide a fair, fun and safe nationwide program with a limited class structure, and easy-to-understand rules. For the industry, TAG is an effort to unify manufacturers and sanctioning bodies to provide a basis for better product development. The bottom line is TAG will provide a fair racing environment at local tracks, and at national and worldwide event levels. The new TAG Board of Directors and industry liaison members are as follows: 2004/2005 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
TECHNICAL ADVISORY LIAISONS
MEDIA ADVISORY LIAISONS
SANCTION ADVISORY LIAISONS
ENGINE ADVISORY LIAISONS
INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY
LIAISONS
Mr. Larson stated, “TAG USA™ is dedicated to providing and maintaining a uniform set of regulations and guidelines that foster growth within the sport of karting on a worldwide basis. We also feel that maintaining an open line of communications through all media sources and with all governing bodies and competitors is key.” He concluded, “TAG will list all rules and regulations in an open forum on the Internet with free access to all, and will continue testing in an effort to maintain a level playing field for all involved.” At the present time rules and engine specifications are being scrutinized. Details will be forthcoming and will soon be available on the new TAG USA website at www.tagracing.net. For more information on
